Facebook Marketplace Scam

I saw someone post a motorcycle for $1000 that is worth $6000. I, like an idiot, got excited thinking I was getting a deal and responded to the email in the facebook description just asking if it is was available. All I said was, “Is the motorcycle available?” I didn’t give personal information. No response yet from the scam email. I noticed after I sent the email that this “person” has 80 similar postings on fb marketplace. Same photos, same price, different locations.

My question is, should I be worried? I think I am okay but I just want to make sure.

My second question is, how does this scam work? What is the point of it and what is the scammers goal?

Thanks.

    It’s basically a !car scam.

Don’t reply when they get back to you. They can’t scam you if you don’t cooperate.
