  1. The catch should be obvious. There’s no car for you. It’s going to turn into a situation where you need to pay them for some reason.

    Either you need to pay a mover, pay a shipping fee, pay something. You’ll need to pay the scammer. But you’ll never get the car. The end.

  2. I see these all the time too. The few times I’ve engaged with the seller, it turns out that they want me to pay some kind of upfront fee or shipping fee to get the car. The red flags to watch out for are “urgent” or “rush sale” (which is meant to explain away the oddly low price) as well as the fact that often you can find the same photo of the car all over the internet.
