Is there a scam where a person video calls you?

Today I had a random person text me on Facebook messenger and I replied, not thinking much of it. Almost immediately after the person tried to video call me and I denied it. I ask them why and they said “I just wanted to see you” then tried video calling me AGAIN. Is this some kind of scam?

There’s a sextortion one where someone posing as a hot girl video calls you and the video plays a recording of a pretty woman waving at you and undressing. They message you that their mic isn’t working so you can’t talk.

You aren’t talking to the girl in the video, it’s a recording, where she starts to undress, and then they message you saying they want to see you naked too. The scam is to get you to undress for them, not knowing the video call is being recorded.

They will then play it back to you and threaten to release it to everyone on your friends list unless you pay them not to.

Really easy to not get trapped by this one, simply don’t show yourself naked to a random stranger online.
