Many businesses are giving incentives to people to gain discounts by providing both an e-mail address and a phone number. DO NOT provide them with a phone number or you will be forever text spammed.

I learned this the hard way. I receive at least 12 text spams a week now because I was dumb enough to provide at least one business with my cell number for a discount code the first time it was offered. Even if they tell you that you can unsubscribe later, they will share your number with other marketers. They do this for kickbacks. Then, you suffer for it.

Don’t fall for it!

Protip: Get a Google Voice line and use that to enter for a discount code, then shut off notifications for the Voice line and never be bothered by spam alerts, and get the discount!

That‘s for sure. I used a VOIP for WhatsAp, like the only place I ever used that number, and I get so many spam calls/texts.
