Scams

Possible email scam from buyatab.com?

I just got an unsolicited email from this email:

**Walmart Canada** <[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])>

Here’s the body of the email

# <your name>, you’ve received a Gift Card!

## Walmart Canada just sent you a Gift Card. Lucky you.

To use your Gift Card as payment in store, simply present a printed copy of your card or display it on your mobile device. To use it as payment on [Walmart.ca](https://www.walmart.ca/), input the 16 digit card number and PIN when you select “Gift Card” at checkout.

Please click on the button below to view your Gift Card.

If you have any questions or require further assistance viewing your Gift Card, please contact us at <Walmart Help Centre Number> or e-mail us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and include your reference number: <reference number>**.**————————————-

This definitely feels like a scam but it looks like there’s a legit looking company called buyatab.

There’s a slight chance that this might be real?I recently bought something on Walmart online that was supposed to arrive 8 days ago but it’s still “On the move” and there hasn’t been any update since 5 days ago.

Edit: Removed Walmart’s Help Centre’s number

  1. I got this same email and it looks legit. I also bought something on Walmart.ca in the past 2 weeks…

  2. I recently tried buying a gift card on Lowes’ website and when you do so, it takes you to the buyatab website. So I want to say it’s legit, but while I bought it on the 13th, the card never showed up… so I’m not entirely sure what to believe right now.
