They’re still harassing me! I said about a month ago that these people are scamming me and now they are threatening legal action. They have my signature and information like name, phone number, address, and birth date. What do I do!

Report, block and ignore. Nobody is taking you to court. Don’t even bother reading the emails. Direct to spam

  2. Is this the other version of that “code boot camp” scam that was mentioned here earlier this week?

    >I applied to a coding bootcamp program and they are now suing me for $70,000

    >Hello everyone, I recently applied to what I initially thought was a job on indeed but was actually advertised as a job search and tuition waiver program offered by a coding bootcamp company. At the end of the online application, there was a contract I had to sign with my signature. On like page 30 the contract stated that if I was awarded their tuition waiver that I would agree to be automatically enrolled into their course for free as I long as I registered on time, however, I didn’t register as I had no time to take a course. They then revoked my tuition waiver because I “failed” their class and now I owe $70,000 for tuition according to their contract. A few days later I get never-ending calls from a collections agency threatening to sue me. If this company takes me to court, could I sue them for fraud or abusive contracts? This is so unbelievably ridiculous. There is no way what they’re doing is legal. I simply can’t pay this debt off and I am scared they can take my house or garnish my wages.

Is this similar to what is being done to you, OP?

  3. Are you in the United States? If so, you might consider getting legal help. If you don’t have money for a lawyer, find a legal aid clinic and tell them your story. They would be able to give you the best advice.

Other than selling your info, they can’t do anything to you. Your post is likely costing them from conning others as easily, so now they can only attempt to make you pay with scare tactics. Btw, your info isn’t worth much, many of the big box stores like Best Buy will sell your info, so it’s no secret.
